This knitting pattern was originally published in Knit 1-2-3. Now that I have rights back to it, I’m sharing it here. It was orginally published under the name Kwanzaa scarf. You can purchase an easy print pdf on Ravelry here. The easy print version is just one page of black and white text.
A friend of mine made this scarf in beautiful fall colors. She used 3 colors instead of 4: 150 yards of green for A, 18 yards of gold for C, and 75 yards of brown for colors B and .D

NOTES
When instructed to slip stitches with yarn in front (wyif), if the working yarn is not already in front of the piece, bring it between the needles to the front before slipping the stitches. When instructed to slip stitches with yarn in back (wyib), if the working yarn is not already in back of the piece, bring it between the needles to the back before slipping the stitches.
DESIGNER’S TIPS
- For a neat appearance, cut old color after changing color. Do not carry colors up side of piece.
- When moving the yarn from the front to the back or from the back to the front, take care not to wrap the yarn over a needle and accidentally increase the number of stitches.
