Red Heart Soft worsted weight yarn in Iced Aqua (A) and Aubergine (B)
US J/10 6mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge
Rnds 1-4 = 3.5 inches square

Pattern Notes
Fasten off each color as you go, like I did, or loosely carry the unused color up the back.

Afghan Square Pattern
Rnd 1: With A, make magic ring , ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), 2 dc, (ch 2, 3 dc) 3 times, ch 2, join in top of beg ch 3. (4 3-dc groups, 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, *sc in each st across to ch sp, 3 sc in ch sp, rep from * around, join in first sc. (24 sc)
The center sc made in each ch sp is the corner sc.
Rnd 3: Join B in any corner sc, (ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sc, sk next 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, sk next 2 sts, *(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), sk next 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, sk next 2 sts, rep from * around, join in top of beg ch 3. (4 3-dc groups, 8 2-dc groups, 4 corner ch-2 sps)

Rnd 4: Join A in any corner ch-sp, ch 1, *3 sc in corner ch-sp, sc in each dc across to next ch-sp, rep from * around, join in first sc. (40 sc)
Rnd 5: Sl st in corner sc, ch 5 (counts as dc and ch 2 here and throughout), *dc in same corner sc, sk 1 sc, 3 dc in next sc, (sk 2 sc, 3 dc in next sc) twice, sk next sc**, (dc, ch 2, dc) in corner ch-sp, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join in 3rd ch of beg ch 5. (12 3-dc groups, 8 dc, 4 corner ch-2 sps)
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in each st around working 3 sc in each corner ch-sp, join in first sc. (56 sc)
