I love books with a spiral or wire binding. They’re especially great for knitting, crochet, or cooking- when it’s easiest to work if the book can lay flat. I also love notebooks that are spiral bound for the same reason.
I found a notebook I loved the look of, but it was not a spiral. It had a regular book binding. Luckily I remembered a trick a friend used once on her favorite sock knitting book. She took the book to an office supply store’s copy center (like Staples or Office Max) and had them slice off the spine and put in the spiral wire binding. Voila! Perfect spiral binding on a book that didn’t come that way originally.
Here is a picture of my notebook with spiral binding. Pretty, right?
Try this trick with your favorite craft and cooking books. You won’t regret it!
