If you’re here, reading my posts, it’s likely that you knit or crochet. I love meeting fellow stitchers and discussing yarns and projects. I’ve also discovered that learning what fellow stitchers do when they AREN’T crocheting or knitting can be just as interesting.
When I don’t crochet or knit, I…
Teach – I teach math and science part time at a local middle school.
Do Website Design and Management – I’ve helped create and maintain websites like groutshieldmetro.com and ykwaterbury.org
Doodle – Not everything I do has to have an obvious purpose.
Grow Vegetables – This year I’m limiting myself to one pepper plant and some mint, but in previous years I’ve had as many as 30 plants going.
Listen to Audiobooks – I can listen to Harry Potter over and over again.
Play Tetris and Bejeweled – What did we do before smartphones, huh? My pre-bedtime ritual involves laying in bed and playing a game or two before I go to sleep.
What about you? What do you do when you aren’t stitching?
Sew, read library books, some I need to for homeschooling, some funny fluffy ones with spies, princesss and Wisewomen who make things.
My kids have sort of taken over the garden, so we have strawberries, hot peppers, and Hens and chicks next to the sun flowers and self sown nigella.
I’ve taken up drawing and painting to stretch the ol’ creativity muscles. I love to read (I’ve read 22 out of my goal of 50 books so far!) and I am an avid journal keeper. I love to record what happens in my day so I can look back later and remember.
I weave on loom and not one of those freaky peg looms i can make a few kinds of looms. A notched loom or framed loom depending on project hand. I prefer smaller. I will go back to the hole as know no one gets it.
