When crocheting or knitting, sometimes it’s nice to add a splash of color to part of a project. You can always switch to a different colored yarn, but here are some other alternatives.
- Carry along a thin, colored thread for part of your work. Choose a contrasting color for pop or a similar color for just a little bit of visual interest.
- For home decor items like doilies, try painting some of your stitches with thinned acrylic paints.
- Instead of switching yarns, add contrasting colored beads to some of your stitches.
- For variegated yarns, using two strands at a time can help control pooling.
