Whenever I travel, I have papers I take with me with my itinerary and directions to where I’m visiting. I’ve used a large file folder for these papers in the past, but I thought it would be nice to have something smaller and cuter for my upcoming trip.
All my papers are 8 1/2 x 11 inches, but I can easily fold them in half. I took a regular file folder, and, using a folded sheet of paper as a guide, I cut the folder down to just a bit larger than the paper.
For boarding passes, I thought it would be useful to have a pocket. I cut a pocket out of leftover cardstock I had and used adhesive to stick it to the inside flap of my mini folder.
For a more finished look I used a corner punch that rounds paper corners. You can get them at any scrapbooking supply store, and they really do make projects look fancier.
So what about holding those folded papers? I ran a length of elastic around the folder and tied a knot. All I have to do is slip the papers under the elastic, and that keeps them in place.
