Murphy’s Law: Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
It occured to me that Murphy’s law is just as valid with yarn endeavors as anything else in life.
1. My step-mother once made enough enough 6 inch flower motifs to make a queen size blanket. She had them out so she could sew them together, when her son came in and accidently spilled motor oil all over them.
2. My four year old got a hold of a pair of scissors. He cut my hat, my sheets, and a hole in the sleeve of the crocheted cardigan I had been working on non-stop for the past 2 weeks. Luckily, the cut was towards the edge so it only took my half an hour to rip out and redo.
What about you? What’s your Murphy’s Law story?
I was knitting a sock and it looked really big. But I pressed on. Then the toe looked a little weird, but I pressed on. I finished kitchenering it (after putting it down mid graft!) and tried it on. It was too big in the ankle, too small in the heel and the toe was all sorts of odd.
I should listen to my inner “something’s not right” voice. 😉
wow!
