I have a fondness for cookies. Ok, I have a fondness for baked goods in general, but I do love a good cookie. I especially love the taste of oatmeal cookies. Often, I like to make oatmeal cookies and play around with the add-ins.

For the most recent batch I used this oatmeal cookie recipe with the following changes:
Replace the vanilla extract with almond extract.
Leave out the optional spices.
Instead of raisins, use equal parts dried cherries and chocolate chips.

How good was it? Well, my husband and 2 kids ate 34 cookies in less than 24 hours. So, yeah, I’d call this variation a winner (as well as a reason never to leave my husband and the kids alone with cookies).
