There are a wide variety of crochet organizations out there. One of my favorite is the Crochet Liberation Front. Honestly, one of the reasons it’s my favorite is just because of the looks people give me when I say the name. It generally takes a couple minutes to convince them I’m not joking.

Led by Laurie Wheeler (a.k.a. Fearless Leader) the Crochet Liberation Front is a group for people proud to crochet. There are no dues or fees to join. Just crochet and do it proudly!

Anyways, for the past several years, the Crochet Liberation Front has held the Flamies (short for Flaming Hook of Justice), a sort of Oscars of the crochet world. It’s a chance to recognize the designers, books, blogs, magazines, yarn companies, podcasts and more that we, as crocheters, love.

I’m mentioning this all because the web page is now up allowing crocheters like you and me to nominate our favorites. Please take a minute to head over and share the names of yarn companies, etc that are your favorites. As crocheters, we are sometimes an ignored segment of the yarn crafting market. Help give recognition to those that make crocheting so fun and fantastic.
