One of the most enjoyable conversations I’ve had on a plane flight was with Sarah Wilson, aka The Sexy Knitter. She and I got along great, and we’ve kept in touch online since then. So I was excited when I opened up my Cooperative Press / Bijou Basin Ranch Goody Bag from Rhinebeck to find one of Sarah’s Origami Folded Paper Star Stitch Markers.
It’s handmade from folded paper. I’ve seen folded paper stitch markers before, but I always worried they would be too delicate for use. Hers is actually nice and sturdy. I squeezed it between my fingers and it didn’t even really budge. It fits up to a US 9 (5.5 mm) needle. You can pick up a set of 5 of them over on her Etsy site. She also has other styles of stitch markers and awesome notion tins. Check it out.
I love her notion tins. I remember making paper stars like that when I was a kid.
